I’ve been feeling really strongly over this past year that I want people to be able to see Jesus when they either meet me, or have some sort of encounter with me. I want to be God’s love on display for everyone to see. So how do I do that? It’s simple really, be kind to people. I’m not talking about just being kind to the people you like I mean being kind to everyone as often as you can. I’m not perfect and struggle in this area at times, but I’ve been really trying to show kindness to all the people I encounter. Even if it’s just a simple smile to someone while I’m walking in the mall. You have no idea how something simple can impact a person’s life. It’s really refreshing when you’re with someone who’s genuinely kind. Especially today, people are shocked when people show them kindness. It’s not expected anymore which is sad. It most definitely should be expected of Christians, but many times we fall short of that. The Golden Rule talks about how we should treat others, a golden rule sounds mighty important to me. I want to make sure that I treat people in the best way possible. Jesus gave up His life for me, I want others to be able to experience that and it’s not going to happen if I can’t be kind and open my heart up to people. I’d like to challenge everyone as the weather is starting to warm up and people are out and about show yourself friendly and be kind to everyone you encounter. Let’s spread kindness this Spring.
“Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets.
Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.
