I’ve spent some time recently talking about going after the call of God on your life and not letting anything stop you from doing it. Today I’m here to talk about something a little different. It can be easy to get discouraged sometimes even when you feel like you’re going after what God has called you to. It’s really not that hard to fall into the trap of comparison with all the social media we’re involved in. You might see someone doing the same thing as you & they have more followers than you, or get a better response & it leaves you wondering if what you’re doing is really worth it especially, if someone else is doing it better than you. I’m here to tell you what you’re doing matters. If anything do it for the one. The one person who may be influenced by whatever it is you’re doing. A couple of weeks ago I was talking with my Mom about how it seems literally EVERYONE is blogging & how it can be frustrating because at times I felt as if my voice was being missed. My Mom said as long as you reach one person that’s all that matters & it’s so true. You might only touch one person with whatever it is you’re doing but that one person in the eyes of God is important. We sometimes don’t really get to see the influence we have until later on down the road. You don’t know how what you’re doing might be able to minister to a certain group of people who someone who is doing the exact same thing as you will never be able to reach. Don’t allow comparison to discourage you from doing what you feel God has asked you to do. When you get complimented on what you’re doing or someone reaches out to you saying they’ve been touched take those things to heart. Let them motivate you to keep doing what you’re doing. There’s the parable in the Bible that talks about the shepherd & the lost sheep. The shepherd left the 99 to go after the 1. If you only touch one person what you’ve done matters.
If you keep quiet at a time like this, deliverance and relief for the Jews will arise from some other place, but you and your relatives will die. Who knows if perhaps you were made queen for just such a time as this?”
But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests,2:9 Greek a royal priesthood. a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.
