Obedience

So earlier this year I took the plunge & decided to take my blog seriously. I knew that it would require sacrifice & hard work but I was willing to do it. Things have been going really well but a few weeks ago I was editing a video I had been working on. If you know anything about editing it takes a LONG time. On average it takes me about an hour or more to edit a video. Now, I don’t have a lot of subscribers nor do I get a lot of views. I’ve always been disappointed by that, but it’s never really stopped me. As I was working away at this video I felt the Holy Spirit start to speak to me. He asked me how long I had spent on the video & why I was spending so much time on it when He had given me a different platform to reach people with? I right away realized that I needed to listen to the Holy Spirit and be obedient. I closed my laptop & said okay God I’ll devote even more time to this blog if that’s what You want & what You’re asking me to do. The next day I quickly made up a plan to spend more time on my blog. I gave my blog a facelift, started to interact more on instagram & just really gave myself to it. I’m not going to lie at first it was kind of hard I would be thinking about the video I had been working on. I’m the type of person that once I’ve started something I like to finish it. I knew though that I heard from God so I just left it alone. Within the week I received a message from a girl that I followed on instagram  from Indonesia she was super sweet & told me that if I ever was in her area doing something that she would love to help out since she loved the vision. This lead to a flood of messages from people all over the world telling me that what I was doing was making a difference, that what I was posting encouraged them, my follower count kept increasing, & even an opportunity to collaborate with another blogger came up. I was really blown away, but I remembered that if I had chosen not to be obedient and ignore the voice I heard probably none of this would have happened. So I want to encourage you to be obedient to what God asks of you. Especially, around this time of year we get really busy & it’s easy to just brush off what He’s telling you to do. You never know what will be on the other side of your obedience. Sometimes it’s uncomfortable & sometimes it’s downright hard, but God knows what He’s doing & He has good things for you, so it’ll all be worth it.

If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth.

Deuteronomy 28:1

Walk in obedience to all that the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess.

Deuteronomy 5:33

Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

1 Corinthians 15:58

  1. Obedience is better than sacrifice! 1 Samuel 15:22 Obedience is real important to God, and He attaches a lot of benefits to it. Great blog! God bless! In due time, you will reap a harvest if you faint not!
